Please remember that RA (Rite Aid) in SoCal sale week starts on Friday – Thursday.

So, I got almost everything that I wanted to get except for the ever difficult Keri Lotion and I didn’t get the StayFree, I was waiting for the coupon.
It wasn’t too bad. I was able to roll my +UP from last week into this weeks.
Oh, keep a watchful eye on your receipt because cashiers are human too. If I didn’t analyze my receipt, I wouldn’t have caught the mistake. 1 of the stayfree coupon didn’t take and a $1 +UP didn’t clear the register.
So I made two trips:

Shopping Trip – CVS – Nov 1, 2011

I just went for a walk with a friend and we stopped by CVS.
It was a really good shopping trip!

Nov. Reinventing Beauty with Penelope Cruz, Playtex bottles, Illy Coffee

$0.02 CVS Haul

Once I walk into any CVS store, I always scan my CVS card. I got my $5 ECB (Extra Care Bucks) for the Beauty Club and 1 free Illy Coffee. Nice!
For the week of Oct 30 – Nov 5, CVS scanner coupon will print:
Free Illy ready to drink coffee 6.8-8.4 oz (up to $2.49) – since Illy coffee is on sale for $2, there is an overage of $0.49.
So I was just perusing around the store. I wasn’t planning to buy anything. I felt that I bought enough over the weekend with the Cover Girl blush deal, $8/2 coupon (exp 10/31).
BUT when I went to the clearance section, I found a 3 pack of Playtex bottles Original price was $17.52, clearance price $4.35. Oh My Goodness! I can use my two coupons that I received from the scan machine. I just needed to find one small item. Then I remembered that it is November 1st – the magazine “Reinventing Beauty” should be out! “Reinvent Beauty” magazine will have over $30 worth of CVS coupons for only $0.99 and there are some nice articles, too. I went hunting… I checked the magazine section, it wasn’t there. So I asked one of the reps. They said that the magazine is usually by the photo area. OooOOh, I had to really search! It was on a shelf but covered with other photo film stuff. If I wasn’t looking for the specific magazine, I would have totally missed it. November edition of “Reinventing Beauty” has Penelope Cruz . It was just enough to use my $5 ECB and get free coffee. The total bill would have been $22.42 with tax, and CA bottle deposit.
The cashier scanned my card; I gave the coffee coupon, don’t forget the $0.49 overage and the $5 ECB. My total OOP (out-of-pocket) is $0.02. *sigh* I am really beginning to love shopping at CVS.
Once I was done with my shopping trip, I got to my desk. Then I thought, “I wonder if there is a Playtex coupon for that” Lo-and-behold, there is a $1 coupon for ANY Playtex item. NUTS!! I could have saved even more money, but then I would be really racking my brain to figure out what else to buy… because I might have coupons. In the end, it was still a very good trip.

***EDIT: i was going to type up the coupons in the magazine until i started to notice the expiration date.  the coupons expire 6/10.  i can’t believe how old the magazine.  i am going to see if i can either refund my money or exchange it for a current edition.
